Michael Jones focuses his practice on patent prosecution, foreign and domestic patent portfolio management, and patent litigation. While trained as a mechanical engineer, Michael is experienced in a broad range of technologies such as smart speakers, digital media players, cloud based technology, computer software, robotic platforms, proximity sensors, tablet computer hardware, business methods, interactive online communication, and medical devices.  He has drafted patent applications for clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.

Michael also has considerable litigation experience and has practiced before District Courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the International Trade Commission, and in front of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.  Michael's litigation experience includes a broad range of technology, including, flash memory products, computer software, business methods, skin care brushes, and funerary products.  Michael has also litigated trade secret issues.

Prior to joining private practice, Michael served as a volunteer assistant attorney general in the New York Attorney General’s Office, supporting the development of policy and new legislation regarding data security.
