As the panel description notes, sales of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) exceeded $2 billion in the first quarter of 2021. Recently, several market players are trying to represent patents as NFTs to make transactions quicker, simpler, and more cost-effective. This presents unique opportunities and challenges to university technology transfer offices, looking to take advantage of this new trend. This panel will address several questions, including: what is an NFT? How are they created? What are the advantages/disadvantages of using NFTs? How can technology transfer offices utilize NFTs?
