Keith focuses his practice on client counseling and the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications in technology innovations, including electrical devices, mechanical devices, computer hardware and computer software. In addition, Keith has prepared patentability, validity, right to use and infringement opinions and also conducted due diligence investigations.
Keith also has significant litigation experience including preparing infringement and invalidity contentions, working with experts to prepare expert reports, taking and defending depositions and preparing and opposing a variety of motions.
As part of a team that successfully defended a client in a patent litigation involving four patents related to remote controls, Keith and his colleagues were able to eliminate three of the four asserted patents prior to trial and secured a jury verdict of non-infringement and invalidity with respect to the fourth after trial.
Keith has worked on more than a dozen
Inter Partes Review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board in which he has represented both patent owners and requesters.
